Laura Bell, Head Band Director
Laura Bell is thrilled to be joining the Stafford Band family as Director of Bands this year! Mrs. Bell is a seasoned educator, having taught for sixteen years. Prior to coming to Frisco ISD, Mrs. Bell served as Director of Bands at Reynolds MS in Prosper for nine years, and was in Carrollton-Farmers Branch for seven years before that. During her time in Prosper, the Reynolds Band received consistent Sweepstakes awards at UIL, Superior ratings at several festivals in the DFW area, as well as numerous Best in Class distinctions. Under Mrs. Bell’s leadership, the middle school band program in Prosper grew from 160 students when she arrived to over 500. She was named Reynolds Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2011.
Mrs. Bell is a graduate of the University of North Texas percussion department with a degree in Instrumental Music Studies. She is in high demand as a clinician in the area, having worked with fine young musicians in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Lewisville ISD, and several regions across the metroplex. Mrs. Bell is currently serving as the Region 24 Middle School Band Division Chair. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
Mrs. Bell loves the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, traveling, and coffee! Her favorite thing to do when she’s not teaching is spending time with her family. She has a 9 year old son, Grayson, and a 13 year old step-daughter, Emily, who plays French horn. Her husband Mike is also a band director in Frisco ISD! The family lives here in Frisco with their crazy cat, Cherry.
Chase Rogers, Assistant Band Director
Chase Rogers is very excited to start his career as the Assistant Director of Bands at Stafford Middle School. He directs the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band as well as assists with the Honor Band. Mr. Rogers also teaches beginning trumpet, horn, trombone, and low brass classes.
Mr. Rogers is an honor graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He student taught at Liberty HS and Vandeventer MS in Frisco ISD. Other teaching experiences include: Hebron High School – Lewisville ISD and Legacy High School – Mansfield ISD. Mr. Rogers is currently working on a Masters of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas
Mr. Rogers spent the summer of 2014 touring the country and playing trumpet with The Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps. He performed in concert band, brass band, and chamber music ensembles at UNT.
Mr. Rogers’ professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He lives in Frisco with his dog, Molly.
