Solo & Ensemble Recap
Congratulations to all of our musicians for an outstanding showing at the District Solo & Ensemble Festival.  In all,  93 Advanced Band musicians earned 82 1st Division “Superior” honors.  Earning a 1st Division rating is an extreme honor and a great personal achievement.   In addition, each of the 8 judges was allowed to pick 1 outstanding soloist and 2 honorable mentions. Michael Mendoza was chosen the outstanding soloist for his room.  David Koenig and Blessedness Onaiwu were chosen as honorable mentions for their respective rooms.  The Gold Low Brass Ensemble was selected as the outstanding ensemble of the day consisting of Austin Bowers, Daniel Bradford, Nick Broadaway, Rodney Carey, Denzel LaBiche, Santiago Luna, Alex Hall, Jourdan Hickerson, Kyle Khang, and Rasheed Sulimann. The maroon percussion ensemble consisting of Ti’Ara Barry, Elyse Berkhimer, Nick Blisset, McKenzie Fioto, Shane Rutter, and Ryan Willis recieved and honorable mention award.  The Sound Machine Faculty could not be more proud.    Advanced Bands Have “Superior” Performances

The Sound Machine participated in UIL competition this year.  Advanced Band Gold received the highest rating possible (superior) in performance.  Advanced Band Maroon received the highest rating possible (superior) in both performance and sight-reading.  Both groups performed at the Peak Music Festival receiving top ratings (superior) once again.  In addition, Advanced Band Maroon was selected as outstanding middle school band of the festival.  This was a group effort and all the directors and administrators are extremely proud of this great accomplishment.  Sandy Lake Recap

The Sound Machine took its yearly trip to Sandy Lake recently.  The Beginner Band received a rating of “Superior” from the panel of judges.  The judges all had glowing comments for the group.  Congratulations on such an amazing performance.  The directors are all extremely proud.  Thank you Beginners for all of your hard work!
